Night before last I watched ‘Something’s Gotta Give” which was one of the three movies I’d checked out from the library. It turned out to be quite good and I’m considering owning it. Mainly because it used Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning” in the most perfect spot with Keanu Reeves. I was watching the movie alone but before the scene started I remarked alound how the slow instrumental in the background sounded like Sunday Morning and then Adam started singing and I started singing right along. I know it’s pop but I just LOVE that song. Before it was even released as a single ( and botched in a rushed music video), it was on the love actually soundtrack ( which I’m shamed to say it, but I do own that soundtrack because it’s one of my favorite Christmas movies). I bought Maroon 5’s CD not long after buying that soundtrack. Haven’t listened to it in a while because I wore myself out on it. I actually broke the original CD through a mishap with my tiny govebox. I made ca copy from what I had on ly computer but still for a month or more I had the broken ( in half) cd in my car because I felt the artwork on it was too pretty to throw away. I finally let go and every so often am tempted to buy it again when I see it in stores even though I have a copy to listen to. I just love Adam’s voice, it reminds me of Stevie Wonder from time to time, especially on Sunday Morning.
The song just for me describes the perfect relationship . . . for me, we don’t have to do anything but lie around the house or go for a drive because “you’re all I need.”
Hmm maybe I’ll make it my wedding song, beats the hell out of “Endless Love” the now ironic wedding song my divorced parents had.
